The terms, in plain words.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Creole AI Labs ("Fiscus", "we", "us"), the operator of Fiscus in Nigeria, governing your use of the Fiscus application and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Fiscus.

• Fiscus reads bank statements you upload, sorts your transactions, and computes an estimate of the tax you may owe under Nigerian law, showing the section of the law behind each figure.
• It's an estimate for you to review — not a final or guaranteed number.
• You self-assess and file your own returns. Fiscus prepares and reminds; the decision to file, and the act of filing, are always yours. Fiscus never submits a return to the NRS or any tax authority on your behalf.
• Fiscus is a software tool, not a licensed accountant, tax adviser, or law firm, and is not affiliated with or acting for the NRS, FIRS, any State Internal Revenue Service, or any government body.
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you provide and for your own filings.

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract under Nigerian law, using Fiscus for yourself or for a business you are authorised to represent.
• You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and authenticator secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

• Your data is yours. You retain all rights to the statements, receipts and information you upload.
• You grant us the limited licence needed to process that data solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• You must only upload data you have the right to upload. Do not upload another person's or business's records unless you are authorised to act for them.

You agree not to:

• use Fiscus for any unlawful purpose, or to submit false or fraudulent information;
• upload data you have no right to, or that infringes anyone's rights;
• attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data;
• resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the Service.

• Fiscus offers a free tier. The Business plan is ₦4,500 per month. Prices may change with reasonable notice; a change never affects a period you've already paid for.
• New accounts may be eligible for a promotional free month where offered, on the terms stated at the time.
• Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment partner (Flutterwave). We do not store your card details.
• You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; your paid access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.

• The figures Fiscus produces are estimates generated by software. While we build the tax engine on Nigeria's 2025 tax laws and cite each figure to its section, we do not warrant that any figure is exact, final, or accepted by the NRS, and we are not responsible for penalties, interest, or liabilities arising from your filings.
• Tax law and its interpretation change. You remain responsible for reviewing every figure and for your own compliance. Where the stakes are high or your situation is unusual, consult a qualified professional.

We work to keep Fiscus available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as available" basis and may occasionally need to suspend it for maintenance, security, or reasons beyond our control. We are not liable for interruptions, but we will make reasonable efforts to minimise them.

• To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or tax penalties.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of anyone's rights.

We own the Fiscus software, brand, and content (excluding your data). These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the right to use the Service as intended. "Fiscus" and "Creole AI Labs" are our marks.

• You may stop using Fiscus and close your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive (data, disclaimers, liability, governing law) continue to apply. Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue directly.

We may update these Terms as the Service or the law evolves. When we make a material change we'll update the version and date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Fiscus after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
